Privacy policy

This policy explains how B/ROLL for UGC (“B/ROLL,” “we,” “us”) handles personal information when you visit the site, sign in, subscribe, license footage, download files, or contact us.

Information we collect

• Account information: your name, email address, profile image, and Google account identifier when you sign in.
• Transaction information: subscription status, orders, named brand or product, licence terms, credit activity, Stripe customer and checkout references, and refund status. B/ROLL does not receive or store your full payment-card number.
• Library activity: saved footage, licences, download requests, object keys, timestamps, and security audit records.
• Technical information: IP address, device and browser details, request logs, cookies required for authentication, and diagnostic information needed to secure and operate the service.
• Communications: information you include in support, privacy, refund, or rights-related messages.

How we use information

We use personal information to authenticate accounts, provide catalogue access, process subscriptions and purchases, issue and enforce licences, deliver secure downloads, prevent fraud, respond to requests, send transactional messages, maintain records, troubleshoot the service, and comply with legal obligations.

When we share information

We share information only as needed with service providers that operate B/ROLL: Google for sign-in, Stripe for checkout and billing, Railway for application and database hosting, Cloudflare R2 for media storage and delivery, and Resend for transactional email. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy notices. We may also disclose information to comply with law, protect rights or safety, investigate abuse, or complete a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

No sale of personal information

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use payment information, private downloads, or account records to train public artificial-intelligence models.

Cookies

B/ROLL uses cookies and similar storage required for sign-in, session security, cart state, and core site operation. We do not currently use third-party advertising cookies. Browser settings can block cookies, but authentication and checkout may stop working.

Retention

We keep account information while your account is active and retain orders, licences, refunds, and download audits as reasonably necessary to document rights, prevent fraud, resolve disputes, and meet tax, accounting, and legal obligations. Support and diagnostic records are deleted or de-identified when they are no longer needed for those purposes.

Security

We use access controls, authenticated sessions, private original-file storage, time-limited signed links, and provider security controls designed to protect information. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account or data is at risk, contact us promptly.

Your choices and rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information associated with your account, and may object to or restrict certain processing where applicable. Some transaction and licence records must be retained for legal or operational reasons. We may verify your identity before completing a request. You can also cancel subscription renewal through the Stripe billing portal.

Children

B/ROLL is a business service for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International use

Our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By using B/ROLL, you understand that privacy protections may differ from those in your home jurisdiction.

Policy changes

We may update this policy as the service or our providers change. The “last updated” date identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented on the site or communicated through the account email when appropriate.
